As the summer season comes to an end, drivers can expect another month of more frequent traffic restrictions and road bans. In this article, we provide a list of the dates on which traffic restrictions for trucks will be in force across Europe during August.
On weekdays (August 3–7, 10–14, 17–21, 24–28, and 31)
Road bans will apply in Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. They will be in force from midnight to 5:00 AM and from 10:00 PM until midnight.
On Fridays (August 7, 14, 21, and 28), additional traffic restrictions will apply:
- In the Czech Republic from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
- In Greece from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- In Poland from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- In Romania from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
On August 5, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Croatia from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
On August 7 and 14, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Italy from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
On August 14, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Luxembourg from 9:30 PM until midnight for vehicles travelling towards France, and from 11:30 PM until midnight for vehicles travelling towards Germany.
On August 19 and 20, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Hungary from 10:00 PM until midnight.
On Saturdays (August 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29)
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria from midnight to 5:00 AM and from 7:00 AM until midnight.
- In Liechtenstein and Switzerland from midnight to 5:00 AM and from 10:00 PM until midnight. On August 1 in Switzerland and on August 15 in Liechtenstein, traffic restrictions will apply throughout the entire day.
- In Luxembourg from 9:30 PM until midnight for vehicles travelling towards France, and from 11:30 PM until midnight for vehicles travelling towards Germany.
- In France from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. On August 22, traffic restrictions in France will apply from 10:00 PM until midnight.
- In Hungary from 3:00 PM until midnight.
- In Croatia from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- In Poland from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- In the Czech Republic from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- In Greece from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- In Italy from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. On August 15, traffic restrictions will apply from midnight until 10:00 PM.
- In Germany from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
- In Romania from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- In Slovakia from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- In Slovenia from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
On Sundays (August 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30)
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland throughout the entire day.
- In France, Slovakia, Hungary, and Germany from midnight until 10:00 PM.
- In the Czech Republic from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- In Italy from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- In Slovenia from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9:45 PM.
- In Croatia from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
- In Greece from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
- In Poland from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- In Romania from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
