In May, heavy vehicle drivers will face new traffic restrictions due to public holidays. In this article, we provide a list of dates when traffic restrictions for trucks will be in effect in Europe in May.
On May 1, International Workers’ Day, traffic restrictions will apply in the following countries, notwithstanding the usual prohibitions:
Road restrictions will apply in Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. They will be in effect from midnight to 5 a.m. and from 10 p.m. to midnight.
On May 5 and 6, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Bulgaria from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On May 7, additional traffic restrictions will apply in France from 10 p.m. to midnight and in Luxembourg from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.
On May 8, additional traffic restrictions will be in effect in the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., in Luxembourg around the clock, and in France and Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
On May 13, additional traffic restrictions will apply in France from 10 p.m. to midnight, in Luxembourg from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for traffic heading toward France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for traffic heading toward Germany, and in Austria additionally from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On May 14, additional traffic restrictions will be in effect in Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m. and in France and Germany from midnight to 10 p.m.
On May 22, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Austria from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and in Bulgaria from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On May 25, restrictions in Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland will apply around the clock. Additional restrictions will also apply in Bulgaria from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., in France, Hungary, and Germany from midnight to 10 p.m., and in Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m.
On May 29, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Croatia from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and in Greece from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Road restrictions will apply in the following countries:
On May 2, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and in Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On May 23, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Austria from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Bulgaria from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and in Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On May 30, additional traffic restrictions will be in effect in Austria from 7 a.m. to midnight, in Croatia from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., in Greece from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Romania from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and in Italy from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Road closures will be in effect in the following countries:
On May 3, additional traffic restrictions will apply in Greece from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
On May 24, additional traffic restrictions will apply in France and Luxembourg around the clock, and in Poland from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On May 31, additional traffic restrictions will be in effect in Croatia from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and in Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
